Phoenix reclinata x canariensis

Seed collected from a very old multi trunk Phoenix reclinata surrounded by P.canariensis, so the result is a soft leafed graceful palm which is quite different to P.canariensis of the same size. It’s also incredibly vigorous as this plant is less than 3 years old. Hardiness is hard to pin down, but given that pure reclinata is hardy to around -4c and canariensis around -7c

• Hardiness: H3 will tolerate winter temperatures between -5°C and 1°C (23°F to 34°F), classified as half-hardy or suitable for mild winters

• Position/Aspect: Full sun to semi shade. Good draining is important but not entirely essential

• Drought tolerance: Very good when planted in the ground

• Size: 6 meters

• Seed grown at the Kent nursery: yes
